Kind-hearted Isaac receives Act of Kindness Award

A REDDITCH youngster who set-up a foodbank on his driveway has been recognised with an Act of Kindness Award by the MP for Redditch Rachel Maclean.

During the pandemic, Isaac Winfield set-up a foodbank with the support of his mother, Claire, with the simple premise of donate what you can, take what you need.

The foodbank has been well used and loved by others in the neighbourhood. What started out as a chest in Isaac’s garden has grown into two sheds and a Facebook group.

Rachel said: “Isaac is a kind, caring and selfless young man who is deserving of being recognised for all he has done to support those most in need.

“We’re very lucky to have such kind-hearted young people here in Redditch.”

Claire-Louise, Isaacs mum said: “I am totally humbled and proud of how Isaac has supported his community.

“For a young man to have the idea to ‘give people free food at our house’ to what we have today has just been incredible.

“From a small pop up greenhouse a year ago, to three sheds and a drive to give a gift to those in need today, it’s amazing.”
