HEREFORD and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service stopped an 80 square-metre grassland fire from spreading yesterday afternoon (July 23).
Crews were called out on the hottest day of the year so far to an open fire at the Arrow Valley Countryside Centre.
Although the fire was stopped from spreading within twenty minutes – a large amount of the field has been destroyed.
A hose reel, jet beaters and water backpacks were used to extinguish the flames.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
