Ross Crawford 31st Mar, 2022

TIME is running out to enter the Redditch Standard Baby of the Year competition 2022.

This is the last week of the competition which must close this Sunday, April 3 at 3pm.

It’s easy to enter too – no appointment is necessary and it’s all absolutely free of charge.

All you parents and guardians need to do is pop along to professional portrait photographer Andrea Powell’s mobile studio by The Works and Primark in the Kingfisher Shopping Centre.

There they can have a photo of their baby taken to enter the competition. No appointment is necessary.

As usual there are two categories, 0 to 18 months and 19 months to three years.

Prizes will be awarded for winners and runners up – a 20”x16” canvas print and Jellycat toy for first place and a 12”x10” canvas and Jellycat toy for the runner up.

After the portraits have been taken parents and guardians are given a return date to select their favourite photograph and this will then be numbered and entered into the competition.

Andrea will also be offering a selection of the prints to buy for as little as £12 but you are under no obligation whatsoever to do so.

All our beautiful babies will be then be placed on the Redditch Standard website at for you to cast your votes – please note no child’s name will appear, only a number next to their photograph.

The ten babies with the most votes in each age group will go through to the final, plus ten more selected by our panel of judges.

Employees of Bullivant Media Ltd and their families are not eligible to enter.

Andrea’s pop-up studio will be there from 9.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Saturday and 10.30am to 3pm on Sunday.

Just pop along, no appointment is necessary.
