POLICE investigating the death of Ian Kirwan outside Asda in Redditch on Tuesday have today (Sunday) arrested another youth on suspicion of murder, bringing the total arrested to 12.
The youth remains in custody as officers continue to investigate the incident.
Formal identification has also now taken place.
A 14-year-old boy appeared at Kidderminister Magistrates Court on Friday and was charged with the 53-year-old’s murder. He was remanded in custody and will next appear – at Worcester Crown Court – tomorrow (Monday).
Three youths have also been bailed and seven released with no further action in connection with the incident. Those held were all from the South Birmingham area.
Redditch Asda has since reopened and officers from Redditch Safer Neighbourhood Team are maintaining a highly visible presence in the town.
Police have reiterated that they want to speak to anyone who was at Asda at the time of the incident, saw anything or has dash cam or mobile phone footage.
