A BUMPER sum of £400 was raised at the latest Studley in Bloom coffee morning at the Co-op.
The cash boost comes at a vital time for the gold award-winning Bloomers as they get set for the delivery of a new season of plants.
Chairman Jill Liebthal paid tribute to everyone who baked cakes for the event and to Studley Co-op for once again hosting the event.
“It was absolutely brilliant and many thanks in particular to Diane Clarke, who always sends us five or six cakes,” she said.
“We’re coming up to May planting but this money will also help pay for planters and some of the equipment we need.”
The Bloomers are taking part in the Great British Spring Clean next month.
Everyone is welcome to join them to give the village a tidy up at the event on Saturday, April 6 from 9am to 11am. All the equipment needed for the litter picking will be provided.
