SPRING into Summer with The Laughing Gardener at St Stpehen’s Church next month.
If you love your lobelia, have problems with your petunias or if you’re brassicas are bent then The Church on the Green (aka St Stephen’s Church) is the place to be on Saturday, April 21 at 2pm.
Darren Rudge BBC Radio WM’s Laughing Gardening will be there to answer your gardening questions and give top tips for a healthy abundance of flowers, fruits and vegetables without breaking the bank.
Darren is a multi-award winning garden designer, broadcaster, RHS lecturer and garden writer.
He has spent his career delivering and managing horticultural and other land-based qualifications as well as running a successful garden design consultancy. He was one of the first recipients of the City and Guilds medal of excellence.
Darren regularly has articles published in the gardening press and is the permanent gardening expert for BBC WM 95.6; known as ‘The Laughing Gardener’ he was nominated for a garden media guild award in 2016 and 2017 for his novel and inspirational approaches to gardening issues and problems.
“I was delighted to be approached to deliver this talk at The Church on the Green; it’s an excellent venue full of character and needs to be maintained for future generations. Put simply I very happy to help!” said Darren.
“My talk and demonstration aims to show you how household items can be used to help people garden, especially those gardening on a very tight budget.
“Gardening need not be expensive; with some simple tips it can be very cost effective and I think we all don’t mind saving money. The event will be packed with fun and laughter with full audience participation required.
“There’s lots of savings to be made and you will be amazed what you can do in the garden with teabags, an old bra and a pair of tights!”
