PEOPLE or families struggling this Christmas can get a hot Christmas Eve meal at an event being put on by Redditch Labour Party and volunteers.
Joe Baker, leader of Redditch Borough Council, set up the annual event over 13 years ago and each year it has become busier and busier.
He said: “It’s always a great time where we all get together, roll our sleeves up and start cooking.
“I set this up many years ago to let residents know that there are people out there that care and to give people a hot meal on Christmas Eve.
“It’s also helps break down that feeling of loneliness knowing that someone is out there that cares.
“I would like to say a massive thanks to everyone who volunteers and donates to make this a very special day.
“So if you or you know of someone who needs a meal this Christmas Eve, please call the Redditch Labour Party.”
The event will be held at the St Andrews Church, Church Hill, from 1pm, or meals can be delivered to those who need them.
