CHILDREN at Astwood Bank First School celebrated the 400th anniversary of the passing of the Bard by dressing up as characters from his best-loved play A Midsummer’s Night Dream.
In a week of celebration that combined World Book Day and Arts Week the youngsters enjoyed a fun-packed time by making love potions, learning Shakespearean dances, drama and a whole range of other arts activities, culminating in a wedding in the Reception classes.
“All the children looked magical in their costumes, they learned a lot and had fun too,” said headteacher Debbie Yarnold.
