A FUNDRAISING page set up to help pay for the funeral of Marcus Meade who died after he was shot by police on Christmas Eve has generated almost £6,000.
Jahziah, one of Marcus’ younger brothers, launched the GoFundMe page to help with funeral costs and a headstone.
Speaking of his heartbreak and paying tribute to Marcus on the fundraising page he said: “Those who knew Marcus will know what an incredible person he was.
“He was one of the kindest souls you could ever meet.
“His bravery and selflessness were unparalleled.”
He spoke about a medal of bravery awarded to Marcus after he helped apprehend the killer of a teenager in Centenary Square, Birmingham.
Jahziah added: “Marcus, a father, brother, and friend and his absence leaves an immeasurable void in our lives.
“He would have celebrated his 40th birthday next year and watched his two beautiful children grow.”
On the fundraiser he said: “We are reaching out to ask for your help in raising funds towards his funeral costs, a headstone, and a place where everyone who loved Marcus can gather to honour and celebrate his life.
“Any amount, no matter how small, would mean the world to us and help us give Marcus the farewell he deserves.
“Thank you for your kindness and support during this incredibly difficult time.”
