'Letters to Heaven' - Send your messages to lost loved ones at Redditch's Matchborough Pond

RESIDENTS who have lost loved ones can send letters to them, thanks to a new ‘heaven post box’ installed at Matchborough Pond.

The post box project was led by the Bound Together CIC as part of its new Bound By Loss scheme and made possible, thanks to funding from Redditch Borough Council’s ReNEW scheme.

It started when Karina Homer, who lives in the area and helps out in the community, asked if they could have a post box for those wishing to send letters to heaven for their loved ones.

Karina and her sister Kristina run the Memory Bears Group, helping people make soft toys to remember loved ones from items of their clothing.

The letters will remain private and later turned into forget-me-not seed bombs.

Everyone is welcome to post their letters to their loved ones in the box which is on the wooden fence at the Sticky Wicket pub.

Alison Osborne, from Bound Together CIC, said she would like to thank Karina, Kristina and their dad who fitted it and to the Sticky Wicket for giving permission to place the post box on their premises.
