TICKETS are selling fast for the fifth Redditch Has Talent Final which takes place on the Main Stage of The Palace Theatre on Thursday, July 4.
It will also be the last Redditch has Talent Show put together by producer and impresario Dave Wilkins as he looks to step aside to allow a successor to take over the reins.
“I’m not abandoning ship but I’m 69 next year and putting on the show is a massive undertaking. I’ve done it for the past five years and that’s a fair knock by anyone’s standards,” said the dedicated Palace Theatre volunteer.
He hopes to still be involved in some way and Talent spotters will be able to see him on the night itself in his dickie bow as he once again comperes what promises to be another stunning night of entertainment.
“Over the years we’ve unearthed some real gems, young people who have gone on to study drama or music and taken their talent to another level,” said Dave.
“For me it’s always been about giving young people the opportunity to experience the thrill of performing on a professional stage in front of a live audience.
“The Palace after all is a community theatre and we shouldn’t lose sight of that.”
This year there are 17 acts to enjoy in the 9-12, 13-16, and 17 plus age groups performing in front of five judges who will be choosing category winners and also an Overall Judges Choice.
It promises to be a spectacular evening of entertainment suitable for the whole family with singing, gymnastics, live music and dance.
Tickets at £10 are selling fast with more than 200 snapped up already.
During the judging the audience will be entertained by Ipsley RSA Academy Performance Troupe and members of the Palace Youth Theatre.
