Lions and Radiate Redditch bring good cheer with help from Studley's Bespoke Butchers

THERE’S a hot meal and good cheer awaiting those who need it this festive season thanks to the generosity of local people, Studley’s Bespoke Butchers and Redditch Lions Club.

Starting on Christmas Eve Radiate Redditch will be running at the Ecumenical Centre in Evesham Walk through to New Year’s Day, offering hot food and shelter from 11am to 4pm, except Saturday, December 28.

Offering a helping hand are the local Lions who have donated £500 to help fund the dinners with the meat supplied through Ross Watkins of Bespoke Butchers on Alcester Road.

“Anyone who is looking for company or a hot meal is welcome to attend,” said Sharon Forrest from the Ecumenical Centre.

“Once again we are grateful for the support of Redditch Lions and this kind donation will enable us to buy meat and other food.

“Thanks to the involvement of Bespoke Butchers we can tailor the meals too so nothing goes to waste.”

As well as a good nutritious meal there will be a range of other free services available for the needy including barbers and chiropodists.

Mike Andrews, president of Redditch Lions said: “This must be the third consecutive year we have supported Radiate Redditch and last year one of our past presidents, Brian Rich, who sadly passed away recently, helped out at the Ecumenical Centre.

“For us we are using the money donated by the people of Redditch to help those in need in Redditch which, I think, is the whole point.”

Ross Watkins of Bespoke Butchers added: “We are delighted and also humbled to help and be part of such good work in the community.”
