Local authorities unite to create a new approach to adoption

BOTH Worcestershire and Warwickshire County Councils have joined forces with other local authorities to form a new regional adoption agency.

Adoption Central England (ACE) was officially launched earlier this month and is a joint effort by Coventry, Warwickshire, Solihull and Worcestershire councils to recruit adoptive parents across the region.

ACE will provide support measures for adoptive parents including advice and information, regular support groups for adopters, workshops and training, therapy services for children, mentoring and packages of intervention and parenting support.

Andy Roberts, Worcestershire county council cabinet member for children and families said: “Adoption is a great journey for new families to undertake together.

“I urge anyone interested in adopting to contact ACE and find out more.”
