Local business hosts tea party to raise money for NHS

A LOCAL building company is holding a charity event this weekend to raise money for NHS Charities Together.

Buildland Ltd are hosting the tea party at their offices on Oxleasow Rd, at 7.30am until 11.30am.

There will be tea, coffee, squash, cakes, donuts, biscuits on sale, as well as a Tombola, a raffle and a guess the tea bags game.

Local businesses have also got involved and donated several raffle prizes.

They include two £15 vouchers for The Steakhouse Bakery, a family ticket to the Panto at The Palace Theatre, donuts and sausage rolls donated by Greggs, cakes donated by Morrisons, and specially baked Big Tea Party biscuits made by Little Oinks Bakery.

Liz Sifford social media manager at Buildland said: “This is the first charity event I have done since taking on my role.

“Due to the pandemic, we are very aware of how much the NHS needs financial support, and discovered that they were doing a ‘Big Tea Party’ event throughout July.

“And as we all know, builders love their tea, so this seemed like the perfect event to help raise much needed funds.

“I have been surprised and impressed with the amount of support local businesses have given us for this upcoming event, and I am really looking forward to seeing lots of smiling faces – old and new – on Friday.

“It’s a great opportunity for builders and members of the public alike to come and have a good chat, look around at what Buildland have to offer, fill themselves with food and drinks, and hopefully win some prizes on our games.”
