RESIDENTS in the parish of Sambourne – which includes parts of Studley – go to the polls tomorrow, Thursday, October 21, to elect a new parish councillor.
The vacancy offers an opportunity to make a clean break from the past following the resignation of the council’s former chair, Dr Chris Clews, over emails he sent that included racist, anti-semitic and homophobic comments.
There are two candidates for the vacant seat – Caroline Jackson of Brookside Farm in Middletown Lane, and Nick Moon of Rose Cottage, Perrymill Lane.
The polling station is at Studley Leisure Centre in Pool Road, Studley, which will be open from 7am to 10pm for people to cast their votes.
