Local residents urged to step up recycling efforts in the New Year

Redditch Editorial 6th Jan, 2019   0

RESIDENTS in Alcester and Studley are being encouraged to ‘Recycle Right’.

Stratford District is already one of the top performing local authorities in the country when it comes to recycling and to keep improving it says household plastic packaging such as microwave trays, yoghurt pots, fruit punnets can go in the blue lidded bin plus clean foil and sweet/biscuit tins.

Councillor Mike Brain, Services for the Community Portfolio said: “Food waste and Christmas trees can be collected on the green bin service. Items such as cardboard, plastic food trays of any colour and sweet and biscuit tins can be collected on the blue bin service.

“Please make a New Year’s resolution to recycle as much as possible – it’s good for the environment, the future and also saves money.”
