AN Alcester-based business received a notable guest this week when the Lord Lieutenant of Warwickshire Tim Cox paid them a visit.

The Lord Lieutenant was visiting Vectric Ltd, based in Alcester, on Tuesday (August 1) to hand over the prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise.

Welcomed with a drinks reception, the Lord Lieutenant, Her Majesty the Queen’s formal representative for the county, was given an extensive tour of the business, before presenting the award to managing director Brian Moran.

It is the second time the company, which produce Computer Numerical Control (CNC) software packages with training and support, has received the award since launching and Mr Moran said it was a proud day.

“This is a fantastic achievement for everyone at Vectric,” he said.

“We all feel very humbled and immensely proud to have won ‘The Queens Award for Enterprise in International Trade’. It is amazing recognition and high praise for everyone at Vectric who all work so hard to provide customers with the best solution for their needs.

“We are so proud to have been awarded the UK’s highest accolade for international business success.”

Her Majesty the Queen approved the Prime Minister’s recommendation for Vectric to be honoured with this award owing to the company’s growth and success in export trade over the past six years.

Vectric’s software solutions enable traditional craft sectors, such as wood working, sign-making, engraving and many other industries to create designs and convert them into instructions that drive CNC machines to cut or carve the finished part.

Mr Moran added: “We thank our loyal customers and partners for their ongoing support, without them it would not have been possible to win one of the most prestigious business awards.”
