THERE was pandemonium in Redditch on Tuesday around 11am when a foreign lorry driver went round the McDonalds island on the Coventry Highway the wrong way.
The blunder caused a major snarl up on one of the main arteries into and out of the town.
The route is popular with HGV drivers as it gives access to the Moons Moat industrial zones.
This particular driver however took a right turn onto the island instead of left, causing the jam.
Police finally managed to get traffic moving again after getting the driver to move his vehicle onto the grass in the centre of the island out of the way.
