DRIVERS are being warned of long delays on the M42 eastbound towards the M40 after a serious collision involving a lorry that needs special recovery.
The incident has closed all lanes as the motorway swings northbound at Junction 3a – the connection with the M40 – and Highways England has said it does not expect the scene to clear until at least 7.45pm.
They are advising drivers to plan ahead and to seek alternative routes if possible.
A diversion has been put in place via the M40 south to Junction 15 but there are reports of major delays in that area too.
