M6 northbound between Junctions 1 & 2 remains closed after fatal smash

Correspondent 14th Feb, 2018   0

THE M6 northbound in Warwickshire remains closed between Junctions 2 (Coventry) and J3 (Bedworth) due to a serious collision early this morning which claimed the life of one person, says the Highways Agency.

An earlier separate incident between J1 and J2 which closed the north carriageway between those junctions this morning has now been cleared with this section of motorway now open.

Diversions are in operation for the J2 – J3 closure and road users travelling northbound are advised to follow the hollow black circle diversion symbol. Traffic leaves the M6 at J2 and proceeds south on the A46 to the )Tollbar End Roundabout) at the A45 junction.

Joining the A45 traffic continues west towards Birmingham until reaching the A452 (Stonebridge Roundabout). Turning right at the roundabout traffic heads north where the A452 meets the M6 at J4.

Road users are advised to consider alternative routes and to allow additional time for their journeys.
