IF the people of Alcester are looking particularly well fed this week, the amazing Maggie Payne probably has a lot to do with it.
In another fund-raising drive for Alcester in Bloom, she has been busy baking, her hardworking oven turning out meat pies, cheese scones, apple crumbles, chocolate cakes, fruit cakes, ginger cakes, lemon drizzle, and more to tickle the tastebuds of local residents.
Plus she’s also running a tombola, raffle, bottle store and selling some of her books on life in the market town.
Last time she launched an Alcester in Bloom fund-raiser she managed to bring in £1,000 for the charity.
