A REDDITCH man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the body of a 27-year-old woman was found in Church Hill South.
The 32-year-old was taken into custody today after the victim, understood to be Stacey Sollis, was found yesterday (Sunday) morning at around 1.36am at a property on Knowle Close, which is believed to be the suspect’s home.
The victim did not live at the address but was a frequent visitor to the flat.
Residents said there has been a constant police presence at the building, from which the YMCA offers general accommodation, since 9am yesterday.
“It’s a nice quiet street so we were shocked to hear the news,” said one neighbour who lives opposite the property where the victim was found.
Another said he did not hear any disturbance during the course of Saturday evening into the early hours of Sunday morning but woke to see the police vehicle parked across the road.
A spokesperson for YMCA Worcestershire said: “We can confirm emergency services were called to our Church Hill South property in the early hours of Sunday December 13 and one tenant was arrested.
“We will be unable to comment further as police investigations are ongoing.”
Anyone with information should call police on 101, quoting incident 76s of December 13 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
