A MAN has died after a crash in Redditch yesterday morning (Sunday).
The emergency services were called around 10.45am to reports of a car – a BMW 530 – in a ditch on Old Forge Drive, near the junction of Holloway Drive and Marlfield Lane.
Two ambulances, a paramedic officer and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance attended the scene.
West Midlands Ambulance Service crews arrived quickly to the scene to find police and firefighters performing CPR on the driver, a man in his 30s, who had been freed from the car following the crash.
A West Midlands Ambulance spokesperson said: “The team of ambulance staff commenced advanced life support on scene but sadly, despite the best efforts of everyone, nothing could be done to save the man and he was confirmed dead a short time later on scene.”
Two Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews – one each from Redditch and Bromsgrove Fire Stations – attended after a call was made around 10.30am.
West Mercia Police are investigating the crash and want to speak to anybody who saw the collision or from anybody who has dash cam footage from around the time it happened.
Anyone who can help should email PC Kyle Maries at [email protected] or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
