Man jailed following bad behaviour at Redditch's Christmas lights switch on

Redditch Editorial 2nd Dec, 2019   0

A MAN has been jailed for his anti-social behaviour at Redditch’s Christmas lights switch on.

Kevin Machin, aged 53, of no fixed address, was seen causing a disturbance on November 23 near to St Stephen’s Church in the town centre.

Sergeant Jane Gilkes of West Mercia Police said: “Machin’s bad behaviour meant that he was in breach of a Criminal Behaviour Order, issued by Redditch Magistrates Court in 2017.

“At court a suspended prison sentence from a previous similar conviction was invoked, resulting in Machin being sent to prison for 16 weeks.

“Officers are aware disruptive people like Machin can negatively effect those who live in Church Green.

“We will continue to take positive action with offenders and encourage the community to report any concerns.”
