POLICE are trying to piece together what happened prior to a crash on the M42.
The collision happened at 9.40pm on Saturday night.
The crash, involving a white Mini Cooper and a blue BMW 5 Series, happened on the northbound carriageway between Junction 1 (Lickey End) and Junction2 (Hopwood).
The driver of the Mini, a man in his 50s, was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital with serious injuries.
