A MAN who suffered a medical emergency in Redditch earlier today has been taken to the Worcestershire Royal Hospital.
The incident happened around 12.20pm on Unicorn Hill, near the railway station.
The man had collapsed and was found by a police officer.
Two members of the public immediately went to the man’s aid and began CPR and a defibrillator was brought to the scene by two security guards from the Kingfisher Centre so it could be used.
West Midlands Ambulance Service sent two ambulances, a critical care paramedic and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance to the scene.
Ambulance staff took over and began administering advanced life support before he was taken via ambulance to the hospital.
The Standard was inundated with calls from residents wanting to know why there was such a large police and ambulance presence.
