THE WINNERS of ‘Woodfield Chef of the Year 2023’ competition were invited to have a tour of Birmingham’s Hockley Social Club kitchens, where 2021 Masterchef winner Dan Lee is based.
Maisie Bird won the competition for KS2 with Riyad Ahmed winning for KS3.
The Redditch pupils along with their parents spent time with Dan, and discussed their love for cooking.
Dan then showed the two champions how he prepares and runs his kitchen.
Maisie and Riyad were treated to a taste of Dan’s winning dishes, cooked by himself.
Gemma Lawrence, food teacher at Woodfield Academy, said: “Both students and parents expressed how much they had enjoyed the experience.
“We would like to thank Dan and the team from Hockley Social Club for their time and accommodating and playing host to our winners who we are very proud of.”
