MEMBERS of YMCA Redditch spent an entire week raising money for Redditch Nightstop as part of their National Citizen Service (NCS).
The government-funded initiative, designed for youngsters who have just left school, brings people from different backgrounds together and provides them with an opportunity to make a difference in their local communities.
Redditch Nightstop volunteer coordinator Sharon Holtom said: “Last week YMCA’s volunteers helped raise money for our charity by setting up table sales and tombola in the town centre.
“They also did a litter pick around Redditch and helped us cook batches of soup for young people in crisis.
“We are very grateful for their hard work.”
NCS co-ordinator Tom Smallman said: “I’m very proud of all our volunteers for showcasing their skills to the community.
“Our programme helps develop their talents and provides them with CV experience for the future.”
