Mental Health Action group donates to Redditch charities

Redditch Editorial 1st Nov, 2024   0

FOR World Mental Health Day 2024, the trustees of Mental Health Action Group Redditch (MHAG) have donated funds to various groups that have championed mental health within the community or have recently begun to do so.

The recipients included Inspire Training and Development CIC for their men’s breakfasts, Ahead of Wellbeing CIC for their Where Men Meet project, Redditch Community Sheds Charity for their practical activities to combat isolation and loneliness and Woodrow Community Centre Group towards their newly-formed community project.

The trustees of MHAG said: “These organisations share our commitment to promoting mental well-being, and we want to thank them for their dedication to this cause.

“We hope these contributions will enable them to continue the incredible work they do for the people of Redditch.”

MHAG was formed in May 2013 and aims to highlight the support available in the borough, fight for more services to be made available for those with mental health issues, tackle stigma, and raise money for projects in Redditch.

The group hosted the town’s first Wellbeing Week in October 2013 and has held one each year since, alongside other awareness-raising and fund-raising events.
