Redditch Editorial 25th Sep, 2018   0

MEMBERS of Mental Health Action Group Redditch are taking part in a Walk Out Of Darkness event ahead of World Mental Health Day on October 7.

It is being run by the CLASP charity (Counselling Life Advice Suicide Prevention) which was founded in 2013.

Since then CLASP has become an established force in the field of mental health awareness and suicide prevention.

This year CLASP announced seven Walking Out Of Darkness events between May and October (Mental Health Awareness Week to World Mental Health Day) in London, Nottingham, York, Brighton, Bristol, Norwich and Birmingham

The event in Birmingham is on Sunday, October 7 and starts at 10am from Victoria Square and is a 10km circular route along canal paths.

It is expected to take two to three hours to complete and will finish at the same location.

Rosie Palmer of MHAG said: “It is not a race and participants are encouraged to walk at their own pace, stopping freely.

“Toilets will be available at the start and finish points plus there are coffee shops on route.”
