TICKETS to see comedy king Michael McIntyre perform in Redditch have sold out within four hours.

It makes it one of the fastest selling shows in the Palace Theatre’s 101 year history.

The funnyman, whose previous Showtime tour was the biggest selling of 2012 playing to over 640,000 people at London’s O2, will appear at the Alcester Street venue on Monday, September 22 at 8pm.

The special gig will give Michael an opportunity to try out some new material for his developing stand-up show Happy and Glorious within an intimate setting before he takes to the road once again. The last few years have been exceptional for the star who in 2013

played to sold out arenas in South Africa, Dubai, Norway, Australia, New Zealand and Singapore.

He has also recently made his debut as a chat show host with The Michael McIntyre Chat Show for BBC One. Michael will be supported on the night by Paul Tonkinson.

Paul Hughes, marketing and promotions officer for the Palace Theatre, said: “This is a real coup for the Palace Theatre and we are delighted Michael will be treading the boards here. With Jason Manford following on September 29, it’ll be laughter all the way. The Palace is quickly becoming comedy central.”
