A MAN dubbed ‘the king of networking’ by a Redditch business group has just clocked up his 1,000th meeting in six years.
And when social media expert Mark Northall attended his landmark business breakfast at the Abbey Golf and Country Club, he was given the royal treatment, including a red carpet, a bottle of champagne and an engraved plaque.
Members of Redditch 4Networking also released halogen balloons bearing the number 1,000 and gave him a huge ovation.
In addition to being a Redditch 4N regular, he travels throughout the country, going as far south as Ivybridge in Devon and as far north as Leeds.
It’s a far cry from his previous office-based roles which ended in redundancy in the midst of an economic crisis.
But the 55-year-old bounced back in style and set up Dauben Group Ltd. He is now a leading social media trainer in the West Midlands, a success he puts down to prolific networking. “I’ve gained 80 per cent of my business through attending 4Networking meetings. The support and lifelong friendships I’ve made have been the cornerstone of my business,” said Mark.
However, Mark’s 1,000th meeting wasn’t all plain sailing as he got fined £1 when his mobile phone went off. The money will be added to the Redditch charity pot.
