THE missing defibrillator from Matchborough is now safely back in its cabinet and ready for use in the district centre.
The lifesaving piece of kit was at the heart of a hue and cry last week but has now been returned to its rightful place.
Rob Underwood of Charlotte and Craig Saving Hearts Foundation together with Council Leader Matt Dormer collected it, and, after checking it and with new pads fitted, put it back.
“Defibrillators are life savers and although we always hope that they’ll never be used, it’s important they are accessible in an emergency,” said Rob, who has campaigned across the region for the machines to be installed in public places.
“I’d like to place on record our thanks to Councillor Dormer and Redditch Borough Council who have kindly taken ownership of it and will carry out checks on it so it is always ready for use.
“We’d also like to ask people to keep an eye on it and make sure it’s there because you never know when it might be needed.”
