Redditch Editorial 13th May, 2024   0

A MAN in his 20s was forced to hand over his mobile phone during a street robbery in Redditch in the early hours of this morning.

The incident happened in the underpass between Beoley Road East and West near to Micky’s Chippy and the Cricketer’s Arms pub.

The victim was approached by another man who said he had a knife and ordered him to empty his pockets.

Though the raider did not produce a knife, he said he had one and the victim said he saw what he thought was a ‘knife sized object’ in his pocket.

The man handed over his phone and reported the incident to police.

Officers are now appealing for witnesses to the attack.

The robber was white, of slim build and had light blond hair covered by a hoodie. He was wearing all black clothing including a black puffer jacket and black jogging bottoms.

Witnesses or anyone with information or anyone with CCTV or doorbell camera footage should call police on 01527 583760.

Alternatively call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or visit crimestoppers-uk.org and submit information there.
