Modern slavery - how to recognise it and what to do if you suspect it

AN awareness day on human trafficking and modern slavery is to be held this Saturday, October 19.

Organised by Redditch and Bromsgrove Soroptimists, it aims to lift the lid on a human tragedy that could be happening right before our eyes every time we go out.

Tackling issues such as how to recognise the signs of it and what to do if you suspect it, it promises to be a highly informative day on what is a scourge on modern society.

And with the recent case near by in Birmingham where the largest Modern Slavery Gang discovered so far in this country was brought to justice and sentenced, it shows that this sort of thing is not far away.

The speakers are from the charities Hope for Justice, Hope at Home, tc together, The Childrens Society talking about County Lines and Stop Loan Sharks, connecting slavery and loan sharks.

The event is being held at Bromsgrove Methodist Centre, Stratford Road, Bromsgrove from 10am to 3pm and is free of charge but ideally places should be booked in advance via www.slaverynorthworcs.eventbrite.co.uk.
