THE Alcester and Forest of Arden Food Festival is fast approaching and promises a great day out for lovers of good food and drink.
It’s on Saturday, May 18, from 9am to 5pm and entrance is free plus there will be a free park and ride system in operaton from Mill Industrial Park on the A435 near Alcester.
Paid parking will also be available on the old football pitch weather permitting.
“Alcester really welcomes visitors, we are a festival town with something going on nearly all the time, and the food festivals are the jewels in our events calendar,” said co-organiser Alison Brown.
“It’s our 10th year and we have more than 100 exhibitors lined up and offering the very best of cheeses, pies, artisan breads, cakes, fresh and cured meats and sausages, fruit and vegetables, pickles, oils and preserves, kitchen equipment, a pig roast, award-winning street food, handmade chocolates, local beers, ciders, wines and spirits!
“Our individual local shops will be contributing and our welcoming pubs and cafes will be open. Come along to taste, browse and buy.”
New for May are Bamboo Street Food, Caney’s Cider, Cotswold Salt Beef, Faraday Kitchen, Greek Souvlaki, Hush Hush Chefs, Lab Culture, Lakehouse Brewery, Nenette Chocolate, Pantry Anne’s Deli, Roving Apothecary, Warwickshire Crepes, Yum and Zero Waste.
An information stand will be located by St Nicholas Church.
“Our Food Festivals are run and managed entirely by volunteers and we would like to thank the many individuals and organisations who make our wonderful event possible,” added Alison.
