MORE than 100 people turned up to Redditch Mayor Roger Bennett’s Civic Service on Sunday.
The service was held at St Stephen’s Church, led by Reverend Paul Lawlor, in celebration of the Mayoralty.
After readings from Coun Bennett and Borough Council leader Matt Dormer, visitors headed to the town hall for refreshments.
Coun Bennett said: “It was a poignant day and I was thrilled to be joined by other mayors from across the region.
“There was also a fantastic parade by Redditch Sea Cadets.
“Thank you everyone for coming.”
The collection from the service will be divided between the Mayor’s charities; League of Friends – Alexandra Hospital, BluWave Community Transport and Redditch Mental Health Action Group.
