MORRISONS Redditch hit the high notes on Saturday as it drew their fundraising for the company’s charity Young lives vs cancer.

For the last five years Morrisons stores up and down the country have been raising money for the good cause and the community champion of its Redditch supermarket, Bev Allington, hailed the generosity of local shoppers.

“To all our customers and staff we can not express the help and generosity you have given which has allowed us to raise £18,000 this year and £53 000 over the five years, which, combined with the rest of UK stores, comes to a staggering £18million.

“I could not do my job without a great team of friends and colleagues who are always up for the challenge from skydives to the odd ice bath challenge!

“This last weekend we had the pleasure of Terri Mountney and Dawn Collins who are part of AD Concert Band based in Solihull who came and played saxophone and clarinet to support the charity.

“We can not thank our community enough for such support and we could not raise such an amount without their help .

“Our new charity partnership will start in February and if anyone would like to get involved with helping us fund raise, please email me at [email protected].”
