Mother’s meeting group moved to Redditch's Morton Stanley Park

REDDITCH ‘moms’ are being urged to meet up and move to improve their physical and mental health as a new scheme continues in 2025 across the borough.

The sessions, now taking place at Morton Stanley Park, brings together mums and carers, get together for a walk and a chat after dropping children off at school.

Health Walks for Moms, led by volunteers, aims to improve physical and mental health and will suit all abilities who can choose their own pace.

Portfolio holder for Leisure, Coun Juliet Barker Smith, said: “It is fantastic news this initiative has been a success and is continuing into the new year with a new home.”

Starting from its new home next Friday, January 17, the free weekly sessions are run by Redditch Council and supported by Worcestershire Health Walks.

Council leader, Coun Joe Baker, said: “The ‘Health Walk for Moms’ initiative has been received fantastically by residents and has been made a success by the lovely volunteers. It is great to see that it continues into 2025.”

Anyone wanting to take part should meet outside the cafe in Morton Stanley Park for the first session at 9.30am on January 17. For more information search Health Walks for Moms on redditchbc.gov.uk or contact Sports Development via email at [email protected] or by calling 01527 881404.
