THE WINNER of the ‘Village’s Best Pub Competition’ run by Redditch MP Rachel Maclean has been crowned.
Hundreds of residents took part in the competition by voting for their favourite pub.
The Old Sticky Wicket in Matchborough received the most votes and took the title of The Old Sticky Wicket, many praised the pub for being at the ‘heart of the community’, its ‘great atmosphere’ and ‘great manager’.
Mrs Maclean said: “Our pubs are at the heart of their communities and it’s right we recognise the contribution they make to our town and villages.
“Huge congratulations to Joanne Beech and her team at The Old Sticky Wicket for receiving the most votes and winning my Best Pub Competition.
“It’s clear from the votes that The Old Sticky Wicket received that the pub really is much-loved by residents.”
