MP FOR Redditch Rachel Maclean has congratulated Liz Truss on her election victory.
In a statement she said: “Today she will become our next Prime Minister, and arguably her inbox will be full of the biggest challenges our country has faced in decades.
“The first priority for our new Prime Minister must be helping my constituents and local businesses with the cost of living and the energy bills they’re facing. We will need to go much further than the £37 billion of support which is already in place. I know she gets it and I know she will deliver – that’s why I voted for her.
“The months ahead will be tough, but Liz will rise to the moment and she will have my full support in growing the economy, cutting taxes, delivering for the Alex and our NHS and bringing to an end migrants crossing the English Channel.”
