THE proud owner of a Victoria Pendleton bicycle, MP Karen Lumley recently officially opened the latest edition to Redditch’s growing town centre businesses – top notch bike shop The Cycle Studio.
And if it’s unlikely that Mrs Lumley would take to the road on some of the high end carbon fibre Tour de France-style pushbikes on sale there, she is keen on promoting the benefits of cycling.
“Cycling is a great way of promoting a healthy lifestyle and combating obesity and schemes like Cycle to Work are a great way of getting more people on bikes,” she said.
The Cycle Studio is managed by Russell Cashmore, a local man with a wealth of cycling experience.
“We felt Redditch needed a premier, prestige quality cycle shop with the flexibility to carry out repairs on all types of bikes,” he said.
“We stock bikes from £300 to £10,000, from road bikes to MTBs so we can accommodate everyone from families to the next Iron Man competitor.”
