REDDITCH’S MP enjoyed a tour round RSA Academy Arrow Vale last Friday.
It was all part of Rachel Maclean’s promise to visit all schools within the constituency over the next few months.
She was shown round the school by principal Ian Mellor, chief executive Guy Shears and accompanied by Matchborough ward councillor Juliet Brunner.
Following an Ofsted inspection three years ago Arrow Vale was judged as being the first ‘Outstanding’ high school in Redditch, and Mrs Maclean was impressed with the excellent leadership at the school.
“It was great to meet Ian and his team,” she said.
“I was very impressed by the leadership and whole ethos that exists at RSA Arrow Vale. It is wonderful that parents have an ever-increasing choice of excellent schools in Redditch to which they can send their children.
“Arrow Vale has also been designated as a National Teaching School – this enables them to train people to become teachers, and also to train existing professionals due to the quality of teachers at the school, and this in itself is evidence of the excellence which exists.”
