THREE schools in Redditch are set to receive a share of almost £500million to make improvements to buildings.

It is through the latest round of the Government’s £498 million Condition Improvement Fund.

Secretary of State for Education, Nadhim Zahawi, MP for Stratford-upon-Avon, has announced funding for 1,405 projects at 1,129 academies, sixth-form colleges and voluntary aided schools.

The successful schools in Redditch are Trinity High School and Sixth Form Centre, Webheath Academy Primary School and Birchensale Middle School.

The investment forms part of the Government’s plan to ensure every child has the opportunity of a place at a good school, whatever their background.

Redditch MP Rachel Maclean welcomed the news.

“I’m delighted three schools in Redditch have received this funding boost which will allow them to carry out vital improvement works,” said Mrs Maclean.

“It’s essential every child in Redditch has access to a first-class education and schools which are maintained to the highest standards.”
