REDDITCH MP Rachel Maclean has spoken of her delight after Prime Minister Thersea May survived a vote of no confidence in her leadership on Wednesday evening.
Mrs May won 200 votes from Tory MPs with 117 against giving her a majority of 83.
Today she is back in Brussels for an EU summit where she is seeking movement from member states on the so-called ‘Itrish Backstop’ which under the original deal negotiated by Mrs May, say critics, could keep the UK tied to EU rules and regulations indefinitely.
Mrs Maclean said: “I’m delighted with last night’s result.
“The Prime Minister has the confidence of her Party. We must now move forward and find a solution that will deliver Brexit in the national interest.”
