REDDITCH MP Rachel Maclean has met with the Local Growth Minister to discuss the town’s bid for funding from the Future High Streets Fund.

Mrs aclean is working with Conservative leadership team on Redditch Borough Council as a bid is developed for a share of the £675 million fund.

This money fund was announced in the Budget last October to help towns transform their local high streets into modern vibrant community hubs.

It’s hoped the cash will enable councils to implement bold new visions to transform their town centres and make them fit for the future to improve transport and access and convert retail units into new homes.

And with Redditch Borough Council currently developing a bid for a share of this funding, Mrs Maclean met with the Minister for Local Growth, Jake Berry, on Tuesday to discuss the town’s bid.

“I want Redditch to be at the forefront of Ministers’ minds when they decide which towns will be receiving a share of the Future High Streets Fund,” said Mrs Maclean.

“That’s why I met with the Local Growth Minister to state Redditch’s case and to see if there’s any support he can offer as Redditch Borough Council develops its bid.”
