Mum distraught after 'vile mess' left behind by neighbour

A CONCERNED mum has slammed her former neighbour for leaving a ‘vile mess’ outside her home.

Carly Mason, who lives on Bushley Close, says the rubbish was left behind by her neighbour when she moved out of the council property next door.

Ms Mason has urged Redditch Borough Council to clean up the rubbish but says nothing has been done yet.

“The council was supposed to come out last week but that didn’t happen and I’ve been ignored since,” said the Woodrow resident.

“A lot was left behind including two sofas in her back garden and rubbish on her front drive.

“The smell from the front and back of our house is absolutely disgusting.

“I have two children, one with a disability, this cannot go on any longer. The council must act now.”

The authority’s tenancy officer, Jane Smith, said the mess will be cleared as soon as possible.

“Unfortunately because of the coronavirus pandemic we are short staffed at the moment,” she said.

“We hope to have the rubbish cleared before the end of the week.”
