Mum's celebrating as Abbeydale stay and play turns one

REDDITCH’S Abbeydale Stay and play group is celebrating its first birthday.

The sessions were the brainchild of parents Claire Moulder and Alice Hughes.

The idea of a stay and play came after the mums recognised there was a desperate need for baby and toddler interaction after the Covid lockdowns.

They approached Abbeydale community builder, Donna Parry, and she helped them set up the group.

She said: “I initially supported at the start as part of my role but the ladies flourished.

“This was a much needed group where parents said they felt it brought a more relaxed welcoming atmosphere as it was run by parents just like them.

“The children have been able to socialise and thanks to the wonderful community they had a lot of donations of toys and equipment too.

“This week they celebrated their first birthday and hope to continue the group on with as much support as possible from the community.”

The Abbeydale Stay and Play group runs every Monday from 9am until 11am and costs £2.50.
