Mum's make a wish dream to mark tragic Amy's 21st birthday

A REDDITCH mum is trying to raise £500 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation UK in memory of her daughter Amy to mark what would have been her 21st birthday.

Brave Amy was born with Microcephaly, which caused severe developmental delays. She had severe cerebral palsy, epilepsy, needed to be tube-fed and was confined to a wheelchair.

Despite this, she and her mum Collette Kearney were keen campaigners for services at the Alexandra Hospital and attended all the meetings they possibly could.

Amy passed away just short of her 21st but earlier in her life Make-A-Wish Foundation UK had granted her wish to visit Disneyland Paris with her mum and sister Louise.

“This cherished holiday would not have happened without Make-A-Wish, who not only covered the cost of the trip, but also ensured Amy’s oxygen and medical needs were also catered for. We will be forever grateful to them,” said Collette.

The family are now hoping they can raise some money so other children can benefit from the help of the charity.
