THERE will be music magic at Vintage Trax in Redditch this Saturday as it celebrates the UK’s 11th Record Store Day.

The Birchfield Road business, the town’s only independent record shop, holds a treasure trove of discs including its largest ever stock of quality, pre-loved vinyl records.

With collectable retro picture discs, shaped discs, coloured vinyl and limited edition issues of 7” and 12” singles, LPs and box sets for music fans, there are also 100s of CDs.

“We have something for pretty much all musical from the Jazz age through to early 1990s R&B, R&R, Soul, Funk, Disco, Reggae, 60s Brit Beat, 70s and 80s Pop, Glam Rock, Punk & New Wave, Indie & Alternative, Electro Synth, Folk, Blues and classic Rock music including AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, and of course, Led Zeppelin,” said Vintage Trax owner Ros Sidaway.

Led Zeppelin’s drummer, John Bonham, was born just a few yards from the shop at 84 Birchfield Road, where a blue plaque was installed last June.

Customers will also be able to learn more about the star’s life from the Bonham Story wall inside the shop.

There will be much more happening in store on the day, from 10.30am until 5pm, including a free raffle, free hot and cold drinks and nibbles, and of course great music.
